Production log week 4

What have your learnt about your target audience ?

This week i have learnt that my target audience is going to be British working and middle class people because they can both relate to my film. The film is going to be a 18 and that means that it wont appeal to anyone below that age and both males and females will be targeted. Even though most British Social Realist films are aimed at a younger audience ours will aimed at a more vast age group due to the fact the main characters will be different ages.

What have you learnt about institutions involved in the production a British Social Realist film ?

The institutions involved in the production will tend to target a British niche audience and the conventions and themes in the film will appeal to this audience. The themes will usually revolve around current events happening in Britain and be controversial. The production company won't use sets and we use real life locations and film there to make the films real and the audience can relate to this.

How will this inform your production ?

This will inform my production because my film will be based around real life situations and i know what locations to use as well. All this will help my group to make the film appeal to the target audience better.
