Production Log 2

This week i have learnt that different social realist films relate to different audiences and target a niche audience. Even though they target British audiences they can also aim at a more specif audience like different regions. Each social realist film has a different theme some of the themes are: Violence (can be gang related), Sexuality, Addiction and immigration. But social realist films explore these films in different ways. Like in 'Bullet Boy' the accent and the slang language is target at a London audience as they would understand it whereas others may not.

This will inform my production because it gave me more of an idea of what social realist filoms are about and what they try to do. My orignal idea was to nice and happy and i know that realist films tend to be dark and gritty. So i have to change my idea and make it more gritty and dark so it can relate to the auidnce more.

 The texts which influenced me the most are 'Bullet Boy' and 'Kidulthood' as it relates to the current gang culture that a lot of youths are involved in. They also showed me that these films and dark and gritty it made me want to base my film around them as its a good theme to choose. It's also easy to relate to as its all around me and easy to relate to.

I will conform to the conventions used in films i liked and the ones which reflect Britain the most as they would be most effective to conform to.
