Evaluation Part 8 - Looking back at your premilmanary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progession from it to the full product ?

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product ?

As it was the first time I did media i was new to everything and the preliminary task was a challenge as i never really knew much about the shot types and also i never knew how to use the equipment. But it went good because my other two partners knew what they was doing. I think the camera shots we used were good and also the timing in the shots were good.

I think that the story line was to boring we wasn't creative enough. Even though the shot types were good we could of had more shots. The planning and research was key but because i wasn't there i didn't get much say in what we done. I found out that the timing was very important like when the door opened and on the other side when it closed.

When making my British social realist opening sequence when we done the filming i made sure that we done as many shots as we could and also done each shot from a different angle. This gave us choice of which shot to use and from which angle. I knew that the planning and research was key and if it good then our production would succeed. So I made sure that it was good and also i wanted to be creative but because it was a British Social Realist i couldn't get to excited and make sure it had vesnilitude of realism.

Evaluation Part 1 - Brief

The brief i was working towards was to produce a British social realist film opening aimed at 16-24 year olds. the title of the film is 'Everyone Pays' we chose this because it gives the audience some kind of idea of what it is about. but they still don't know if it's about money or revenge so it has a double meaning and would make the audience think. in our opening sequence we meet the two main characters Tony and Michael we see them getting up and getting ready. The Tony (the boss) calls up Michael to ask him to come in to fire him but Michael doesn't want to so Tony does it over the phone. The final edit of our opening sequence sticks to our treatment we changed some thing like by adding in a split screen to give more of an contrast between the lives of the two main characters. The opening sequence explores the themes of British social realism because we see the social class divide between Tony (middle class) and Michael (working class). In my research it showed that normally it's about the working class struggling to do better and that middle class people are rarely in these films. so i thought it would be original to have one in the film and would serve as a counterpoint. http://labs11.blogspot.com/2011/03/final-treatment.html
